In the midst of fashion week, the Academy Awards occurs. The Oscars aired today , March 7th. The talk as usual, "Who wore what?" Celebrities flocked the red carpet, actresses in gorgeous gowns, actors in tailored suits. Below are my top 5 for best dressed and runner ups for best dressed.
Best Dressed :
Actress Carey Mulligan in Prada. Carey's red carpet numbers never cease to amaze me. This beautiful black Prada gown with jeweled embellishments is a great look for the actress. A nude neck with drop earrings are the perfect accessories along with her blonde pixie cut.
Zoe Saldana in Spring 2010 Givenchy Haute Couture. Zoe's styled has evolved over the past years leading her into a style favorite. Her decision to wear haute couture on the red carpet was bold choice but nonetheless, Zoe looked amazing.
Sandra Bullock in Marchesa. The Marchesa gown was the perfect silhouette with beautiful brocade. Sleek straight hair with this gown was a great red carpet number.
Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dries Van Noten. The beautiful actress wore a painterly style Dries strapless gown. Pulled back hair and drop earrings made for a great Oscar look.
Cameron Diaz in Oscar De La Renta. A beautiful strapless gown with jeweled embellishments. The actress looked very hollywood starlet esque with side swept hair.
Gabourey Sidibe in Marchesa. The Oscar Nominee for Best Actress looked absolutely stunning in a beautiful figure hugging Marchesa gown. Great color and great look for Gabourey. She was quoted as describing her gown as "If fashion was porn, this dress is the money shot."
Runner Ups These lovely actresses had the wow affect but just couldn't make into my list of best dressed.
Vera Farmiga in Marchesa. A beautiful magenta ruffled gown was absolutely stunning on the Oscar nominee. The fitting around the waist and side are especially lovely.
Helen Mirren , The Queen! The lovely actress was gorgeous in a gown by Badgley Mishka. Jeweled embellished sleeves and gown. The Oscar nominee and previous winner looked stunning tonight.
Demi Moore in Versace. A nude tone gown with exquisite draping on the top leading to air like ruffles towards the bottom.
Jennifer Lopez and Amanda Seyfried both in Giorgio Armani Prive.
